Backstory:

Shok (Zeitmahl, Red Light District) called me up one day and told me about a vampire soundtrack he was working on. The concept sounded like he was going for kind of a funk inspired vampire sound. The conversation inspired me to finish a song that I began months earlier by adding vocals and violin.

Rough drafts were exchanged and I wanted to deliver a piece that was haunting but also seductive and alluring. It was for this reason that I decided to sing the second half of the song in French, although the translation and its overall intention is gruesome.

Initially Shok was going to only clean up my vocals but then he added drums and percussion, synth, backup vocals and a five-string bass guitar line that was recorded in one take. You can hear him finding the note for the first time as he slides into it during the introductory pluck of the string. This is one of the ingredients for the magic of this musical collaboration which we are excited to share with you.
